Kentucky Travel Medicine has the primary objective of preparing you to travel safely and in health. The pre-travel evaluation is an opportunity to review your health history, your specific itinerary, the type of traveling you will be doing, and to formulate customized recommendations for you.

Your appointment should be a minimum of 4-6 weeks before the planned departure. This time may need to be as long as 6 months to receive maximum protection from some immunizations. However, even if you are on your way to the airport, we can still offer some immunizations and lots of valuable information!

The appointment itself will take 30-60 minutes depending on the complexity of your itinerary and activities planned. We will review your immunization and health history (bring a record of your previous immunizations and current medications!). Most of the vaccinations will also be completed during this visit.

You may need to return for booster shots to complete a vaccination series.
